FAQ

What are the hours and location for Records?

Town Hall and Police Department - 6450 N Ocean Blvd, Ocean Ridge, FL 33435

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm (excluding Holidays)

Can I submit a request anonymously? Yes, however under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public-records request.

What is the Cost?

If the request takes less than 15 minutes of staff time and no significant resources are expended, there is no labor charge, only the cost of duplicating the records. If the request takes more than 15 minutes of staff time, you may be charged for labor.

How long will it take to receive requested documents?

The law permits a reasonable time to locate, review, redact, if needed, and process records for release. Florida State Statue 119.07(1)(c) requires a “good faith” response which is defined as making “reasonable efforts” to determine from others within our agency whether such a record exists.

Will I be required to make a monetary deposit when requesting public records?

When you make an extensive request with the Town, then you will be asked to pay 50% of the amount due prior to any work beginning on fulfillment of the request.

Police Department requests or documents produced by the PD will require payment in full if processing time is over 20 minutes.

Why does it appear that information is missing from my report?

Florida State Statute 119.07, along with other Florida State Statutes, call for certain information to be considered exempt and/or confidential from inspection. Therefore, before we release a report or document, it is reviewed and the information meeting these requirements is removed or redacted. For further information on exemptions by law, go to: Florida Sunshine Law.

Where can I find meeting agendas?

Meetings and agendas can be found on the Town's Website.

Requests for Fire / Rescue Records (i.e., Copies of Incident Reports, Medical Records, etc.) contact the City of Boynton Beach Fire Rescue.
